Summer Shape Tessellation!

Hi bloggers, I am on my last post for today. I will start posting again after the holidays. I have been doing a shape tessellation, a tessellation is a tessellation of a flat surface is the tiling of a plane using one or more geometric shapes, called tiles, with no overlaps and no gaps. In mathematics, tessellations can be generalized to higher dimensions and a variety of geometries. A periodic tiling has a repeating pattern. I decided to do my colours pink and yellow as they are my two favorite colours and remind me of summer. I used tryangles to create my final outcome. Have you made a shape tessellation?

My Dog Jigsaw Puzzle!

Hi bloggers, I am on my second to last post today, I probably will not be posting anymore posts after today, until the holidays are over. I just finished creating a really cool jigsaw puzzle using a website called jigsaw planet, you can also do other peoples puzzles. It is super easy to create your own jigsaw puzzle you just need to find an image you would like to use, chose how many pieces (I did 50), and then you can get started and try complete your very own puzzle. It is pretty cool, I completed mine in 10 mins, as it was really hard trying to get the right piece as they are similar color pieces. Have you create a puzzle using jigsaw planet?

Map My Route!

Hi bloggers, I hope you have all had a good week, and done some fun things at home in self isolation. Yesterday I went for a walk on the beach with my family, we remembered to stay 2 meters away from everyone else. I walked from my house to the beach, then we walked down the beach and found some cool huts and looked at them for a while and played in and around them. I map my route from home to the beach, along the beach, and back. I enjoyed this walk and we found lots of sand dollars along the way and my brother was collecting them. Have you been on a walk at the beach in self insulation yet?

David Walliams!

Hi bloggers, I am on my last post for today. Have you heard that David Walliams is going to be releasing one of his audio books each day for the next 30 days? I have, and that's why I am going to be sharing with you today the one that I listened to. Today I listened to the world's worst children 1, it was really good. I have read this book before, but never listened to it so it was a really cool new experience. Did you know David Walliams is the world's top most selling author, and is a judge on Britain's Got Talent. In the book The World's Worst Children there are many interesting and slightly weird characters like, Bertha The Blubberer, Brian Wrong Who Is Never Wrong, Dribbling Brew, Earnest Ernest, Grubby Gertrude, Miss Petula Perpetual Motion, Nigel Nit Boy, Peter Picker, Sofia Sofa and Windy Mindy. Have you read or listened to The World's Worst Children, if so who is your favorite World's Worst Children character?

Kahoots With My Family!

Hi bloggers, thanks for viewing my second post for today, almost done. I have been amusing myself today, by doing some kahoots with my family. I did lots of kahoots with my family, disney movies, cartoon characters, finish the disney song, and the movie awards 2020. I really enjoyed playing kahoot with my family it was so much fun. Some questions are hard, but at least you get given options to choose from. So many inspirational quotes pop up when you are waiting for the answer or logging on, next time you play you should look more closely and read what they say. Have you played kahoot with your family recently?

David Attenborough Documentary!

Hi bloggers, welcome to day three of me posting three things a day. I just finished watching an amazing David Attenborough nature documentary, Seven Worlds One Planet. This is all about nature and it reveals the extraordinary wildlife stories and unseen wilderness of our seven unique continents, with an environmental message. There are seven episodes in this series, but I have managed to be able to see them all, over a few days. I highly recommend watching this series and would definitely watch it again. David Attenborough's series are so educational, but in a fun way. You can learn so much from just one episode and see some amazing scenery and videos of animals. This series is focused on Antarctica, the coldest region on earth, and the place where the warming of the oceans is having a profound effect on the weather patterns. I learned a lot from this series and would love to share it with you, so here are a few things that I learned. There is so much more to the series than just wildlife and nature, there is colour, creativity, harsh living and so much more. Grey-headed albatross, a species whose population has more than halved over the past 15 years and which is now facing extinction. The birds cannot keep pace with the rapid changes affecting their environment. When its parents fly off in search of food, a grey-headed albatross chick is left shivering on its nest. However, the howling gales, which regularly reach speeds of 120 km an hour, blow the chick off its nest. Because they have not had the time to evolve sufficiently, the parents cannot recognise the chick unless it is perched on the nest. So in Seven Worlds One Planet, I witnessed a heartbreaking sequence in which the chick desperately tries to clamber back into the nest so it can be recognised, fed and sheltered by its mother. The effect of climate change is shown in one highly effective and moving sequence. Have you watched Seven Worlds One Planet?

Gardening!

Hi bloggers, this is my last post for today, but will have more tomorrow. Today I have been helping my Mum in the garden, I trimmed the hedge back, then racked it all up and finally added some mulch to the garden, after my Mum pulled the weeds out. I enjoyed doing this as it was fun trimming the hedge and adding mulch to the garden. As I was doing this I took some photos for evidence and to show what I was doing. Do you do much gardening at home?

Movie Review!

Hi bloggers, I hope you have been enjoying all my blog posts so far, I have many yet to come. Today I am going to be writing a movie review and be reviewing one of my favorite movie-To All The Boys: P.S I Still Love You. This is the second movie from this series the fist one was, To All The Boys I've Loved Before. Here is my review, To All The Boys: P.S I Still Love You, is a great 2020 romance movie and meets all the standards. Although it is not as fun as the first movie, it still has lots to present, and a lot the love about the movie. This movie is filled with amazing actors including Lana Condor, who also stars in the second movie, To All The Boys: P.S I Still Love You, and Alway and Forever. Lana Condor is a great actor and the movie To All The Boys I've Loved Before and To All The Boys: P.S I Still Love You, would not be the same without her. Noah Centineo, also known as (Peter) does an outstanding performance in all of the movies, he has also acted in The Perfect Date, Sarah Burgess Is A Loser and more. My overall rating for To All The Boys: P.S I Still Love You, would be a solid 8. As it is not as good at the first movie but still it a great movie. I have also decided to add my favorite quote from the movie. What would you do if you had a crush on a guy? Would you tell him? OK, what would you do if you had crushes on five guys? Have you seen To All The Boys I've Loved Before or To All The Boys: P.S I Still Love You?

Monopoly Board Game!

Hi bloggers, today as one of my activities I decided to play a board game with my little brother. We played monopoly junior. This game is super fun to play as you get to buy lots of cool places and use credit cards instead of cash. My little brother kept landing on my properties and had to pay me rent, but he still one. My little brother was the toy car and I was little Hazel the cat. How the game works, once you have chosen your character, put it at the start. Take turns at rolling the die and buy whatever properties you land on, you must buy them. If you land on any of the other players properties you must pay them how much it costed them to buy it. You pay the other players buy inserting your card into the house and takeaway however much you owe them, then they will insert their card and the money automatically goes into their bank account. You can check how much money you have buy inserting your card at any time of the game or on your turn. The game ends when one player runs out of money and becomes bankrupt. The player with the most money wins.

Lucy Hale!

Hi bloggers, I have completed my final task for today. I have created a presentation on someone who I look up to, in which it has to be a famous person. I chose to research about Lucy Hale, Lucy Hale is most known for her role as (Aria Montgomery) in the series Pretty Little Liars. She is one of the four girls who go through a lot, to find the missing fifth member of the group Sasha Pieterse (Alison Dilaurentis). Lucy Hale has also acted in Truth Or Dare?, A Cinderella Story, Life Sentence, Katy Keene and many more. Have you watched Pretty Little Liars?

Always And Forever Book Cover!

Hi bloggers, I am up to my second activity for today and have one to go. This activity is creating a book cover and blurb on canva. I have used mainly the same font for this, so it is easier to read and looks nice. I also have incorporated lots of colour into the book cover and back, so it stands out and look pretty. This was such a fun thing to create, I decided to do mine on Always And Forever, Lara Jean! I am reading this book at the moment so, I thought this would be a great book to do it on. It also means that I now know what the book is about, and it's storyline. In case this is hard to read, here is my blurb. She is head over heels in love, her dad's finally getting remarried and her sister Margot is coming home for the summer. But change is looming. And Lara Jean can't ignore the big life decisions she has to make-where she goes for collage for one. Because that would mean leaving her family-and possibly the boy she loves-behind. When your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to? "I think I see the difference now, between loving someone from afar and loving someone upclose. When you see them up close, you see the real them, but they also see the real you." Have you created a book cover and blurb before?

What Have I Been Up To?

Hi bloggers, as you have all heard about the coronavirus, you will be aware that school is now all online and done at home, this is for everyone's safety and to try stop the covid-19 virus spreading. For some of you this will be fun being at home 24/7, for about 4 weeks. Others this will be a big change and will take time to get used to and take in. Many at this time will be missing their friends, teachers and other family members that do not live in their household. But the good thing is that we are still able to do everything online and still do school work, and not just take this as a holiday/break. Today, day one of self isolation, I have been keeping up with my work and getting things done, I got a little bit of a sleep-in this morning as I was a bit tired. I have been doing my set tasks and blogging them, so my friends, family and teachers can see what I have been up to/done. What activities have you been up to so far in self isolation? Remember stay safe!

My Bitmoji Pepeha!

Hi bloggers, todays task is to create a bitmoji pepeha. A pepeha is a way of introducing yourself in maori, so you can make connections with people. This is to identify who we are, where we are from and our family. Bitmoji is where you can create your very own avatar, and perolinazie it to look like you. I love my bitmoji pepeha and had so much fun creating it. Have you created a bitmoji pepeha or used bitmoji before?

Samoan Counting To 10!

Hi bloggers, after tech we do some samoan and coding, this time we created a samoan counting animation on scratch. Coding is a skill where you take instructions step, by step and create something as computers do not have brains like we do. Computers communicate in a language called binary and they only use 0's and 1's. Here is my samoan counting from 1 - 10. Type a number that you would like to learn, and my bunny will translate the language for you. Have you created something on scratch before?

My Statistical Investigation!

Hi bloggers, in shaw numeracy this term we are diving deeper into investigation in statistics. I have created a google form and send it out as a survey to get my data . Then I collected all my data and have presented it on this slide. I choose to do it on movies because I think that it is a very interesting topic. Have you done a statistical investigation on something before?

Coding!

Hi bloggers, for coding we have been creating things with squares, I have made a pineapple. I also coloured it in and have added a stalk which was hard as you can only use squares. I chose to do a pineapple because I love pineapples and they taste delicious. Have you make anything on google docs using the square grid?

My Creative Pepeha!

Hi bloggers, at the moment we are diving deeper into our family heritage and our identity. I have made a pepeha, which shows my mountain, lake, where I am from, my name and my family name. I chose Mt Hutt as my mountain because I go skiing there and Lake Kaniere because it is where my family holiday hillton and batch is and we go there all the time and have lots of fun. Have you been to Mt Hutt or Lake Kaniere?
