The Wizard Of Oz Week Long Task!

Hi bloggers, welcome back to my blog. This weeks home learning task is to do a slide on, if you could escape somewhere, where would you want to go? I would want to go to candyland as being in lockdown is getting a bit boring. So I would be able to have lots of fun in candyland. I love this picture that I drew, can you tell that the theme I used was pink? What is your dream land? Have you ever been to a place like it?

The Wizard Of Oz Home Theme!

Hi bloggers, welcome back to my blog. Today's home learning task for literacy is to create a home theme slide on The Wizard Of Oz. For this slide I answered the questions below. Dorothy is in Kansas in the first and last chapters. How has her home changed in the meantime? Why did Oz never feel like home to the wizard? Why did it never feel like home to Dorothy? Why did it never feel like home to Dorothy? Dorothy travels a long way just to end up back where she started. Do you think she'd call her journey pointless? Why or why not? What do you think about the questions above?

Anzac Poppy!

Hi bloggers, welcome back to my blog. Today's home learning task is to do an anzac piece of art. I chose to do a poppy, made out of a shopping bag. For this I used one red shopping bag, a piece of wood, and a red pin. I coloured the red shopping bag with a black fabric marker to make it black. This is now in my front garden. Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations, and the contribution and suffering of those who have served. Have you created a piece of Anzac art?

The Wizard Of Oz The Scarecrow!

Hi bloggers, welcome back to my blog. Today's home learning task for literacy is to create a Scarecrow slide. For this slide I added what I think it means to have a brain. In The Wizard Of Oz, the Scarecrow wants a brain, even though he is actually the smartest one in the group. This is one of the quotes that I used. "Knowledge is better than money. For I consider brains far superior to money in every way." - The Scarecrow. Who is your favorite character in The Wizard Of Oz?

Learning At Home Maths Workbook! - Day 6

Hi bloggers, welcome back to my blog. Today's home learning task for numeracy is to create a 24 hour daily schedule for lockdown week days. I found this interesting to do as it is different to 12 hour time which I usually use. I use 12 hour time as it is more what I prefer. I also did two matific tasks, the same as yesterday but improved my score. I am looking forward to tomorrow. Have you done any maths today?

The Wizard Of Oz Lion!

Hi bloggers, welcome back to my blog. Today's home learning task for literacy is to create a Lion slide. For this slide I had to find out what it means to have courage. In The Wizard Of Oz, the Lion wants courage. I have also used a meaningful quote to show the importance. "You have plenty of courage, I am sure. All you need is confidence in yourself. There is no living thing that is not afraid when it faces danger." This quote is very inspirational as it shows that everyone is afraid of something. Have you ever been afraid of something?

Have you ever been to Lake Kaniere?

The Wizard Of Oz Tinman!

Hi bloggers, welcome back to my blog. Today's home learning task for literacy is to create a Tin Man slide. For this I had to find out what it actually means to have heart or to have a heart. In The Wizard Of Oz, the Tin Man wants a heart, this is a quote to say the importance of happiness and love. "I shall take the heart. For brains do not make one happy, and happiness is the best thing in the world." - Tin Man. This quote is very inspirational as it shows the meaning of happiness. Have you found any inspirational quotes from the Tin Man in The Wizard Of Oz?

The Wizard Of Oz Inspired Art!

Hi bloggers, welcome back to my blog. I hope your day is going well, and you are keeping yourself busy. Today's home learning task for literacy is to create a Wizard Of Oz inspired piece of art. The challenge for this is to find things around the house to create a piece of art. I used lots of card and lots of glue, it was so hard to stick everything down because my fingers where sticky, so I had to wash them regularly. This took me almost 4 hours, I put a lot of effort and concentration into this piece of art. I had to use resourcefulness to make sure I didn't waste to much when I was cutting out, so I tried to cut as closely to the edge as I could. I also used reflectiveness and thought back to when I last make a piece of art, with small things, to remember what worked best. Have you done any art this week? If so what does it look like?

My Evil Witch!

Hi bloggers, welcome back to my blog. Today's home learning task for literacy is to create an evil witch and make a backstory. I decided to call my witch Azazel, she is not the kindest witch you'll ever meet. She steals children's good dreams. I really enjoyed drawing my witch, I think it turned out great, considering I am not an artist. Incase you can't read my backstory here it is. Mrs evil Azazel, is not the kindest witch you'll ever meet. She steals children's good dreams and turn them bad. She bottles the good dreams and has them for herself. But why does she do this? There is a rumor that Mrs evil Azazel, has never once had a good dream. So she steals everyone else's good dreams for herself and makes their dreams miserable and scary. Have you drawn a witch before?

The Wizard Of Oz Similarities!

Hi bloggers, welcome back to my blog. Today's home learning task for literacy is to research some movies similar to The Wizard Of Oz. I chose Alice In Wonderland, Coraline, Peter Pan and The Lion King. As I have so much writing on one slide, I thought it would be a good idea to share it with you now. How Is Coraline Similar To The Wizard Of Oz? The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz is similar to Coraline, as there are two different worlds. One home land and then one with everything they have ever wanted. But there is something that is just not like home. “There’s no place like home.” How Is Alice In Wonderland Similar To The Wizard Of Oz? The Wizard Of Oz is similar to Alice In Wonderland, as both girls are frightened and scared, and are just in a dream. They both have fantastic and magical dreams and make wonderful new friends. How Is Peter Pan Similar To The Wizard Of Oz? They are both on a adventure, and they make lots of new friends along the way. They are both in very magical lands and fit under the genre fantasy. Both of these are on a quest. How Is The Lion King Similar To The WIzard Of Oz? The Lion King and The WIzard Of Oz, are both very great movies and have some similarities. In The Lion King Simba goes far away from home, and in The WIzard Of Oz, Dorothy goes far away from home as well. Thank you for taking your time to read this information. Have you watched or read any of these?

The Wizard Of Oz!

Hi bloggers, welcome back to my blog. Today's home learning task for literacy I created a Wizard Of Oz description slide. For this I had to choose what my land would look like, I chose candy land, then I had to write a description about it, and finally I added an image of my land. This term for literacy we are focusing on The Wizard Of Oz. We will be creating an end product on this topic and will present it to our teacher. At the moment we are reading The Wizard Of Oz. Have you read The Wizard Of Oz or watched the movie?
